Perched on the second floor of the iconic Alan Cooke Ground pavilion, The Clubhouse offers a unique blend of community spirit, comfort food, and the best view of the action in Phuket. Designed as a sanctuary for both athletes and spectators, it combines the energy of a sports bar with the relaxed elegance of a tropical bistro.

A Legacy of Excellence on the Grass
Located in the heart of Thalang, the Alan Cooke Ground (ACG) is Phuket’s only purpose-built, professional-grade grass sporting facility. Spanning several acres of well maintained turf, the ACG serves as the vital hub for cricket, rugby, and multi-sport activities, providing a community-focused environment for athletes of all ages and nationalities.
A Vision Realised

The ACG was the brainchild of Alan Cooke MBE, the former British Honorary Consul in Phuket. Conceived in 2005 and officially opened in 2011, the ground was born out of a desire to create a permanent home for sport on the island. What started as a former buffalo and sugar cane plantation was transformed through a massive community effort—with local architects, engineers, and businesses donating their time and expertise—into the sporting venue it is today.
The Facilities at the ACG are designed to meet international standards while maintaining a relaxed, tropical atmosphere:

The Main Pitch: A lush, expansive grass field capable of hosting full-scale cricket matches, rugby tournaments, and AFL games.

Practice Nets: Dedicated cricket nets for batting and bowling practice, ideal for coaching sessions and warm-ups.

Training Pitches: Multiple smaller grass areas (70m x 40m) perfect for touch rugby, football drills, and junior training.

The Pavilion: A modern, two-storey facility featuring professional changing rooms, showers, and "The Clubhouse" bar and bistro on the upper level, offering panoramic views of the entire ground.

Phuket Cricket Club: Hosting the Island Furniture League and welcoming international touring teams like the legendary Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).

Phuket Vagabonds Rugby Football Club: The center for both senior rugby and the growing Vagabonds Junior Academy, which nurtures the next generation of rugby talent.
